The CHIRON Group proved that mechanical engineering companies can also play in the top leagues when it comes to innovative software: At the AMB International Exhibition for Metal Working in Stuttgart, the CHIRON Group was awarded the prestigious Innovation Award in the Industry 4.0 category for the DATALine software solution. The award is issued by the leading industry trade magazine MM Maschinenmarkt and evaluates the submitted products and solutions according to their degree of innovation and benefits for users, the environment and society. "We are very proud of the award. It shows that nowadays, successful machine manufacturers not only have to be great at hardware, but also can be innovative pioneers in the software sector.
With DATALine, the CHIRON Group has developed a monitoring and diagnostic tool designed to minimize costly downtime for machine tools and thereby increase productivity. On any browser-enabled end device such as a PC, smartphone or tablet, the user can continuously keep track of the most important data on the machine status, the status of the manufacturing processes, productivity or the number of workpieces produced.
If there are deviations in a machine, the customer can immediately react to this and adjust the corresponding parameters. A fault is immediately visible on the DATALine dashboard, so that the cause can be determined and corrected quickly. Even more: The software can also typify machine problems in order to prevent them entirely through preventive maintenance. In this way, production can be continually optimized to prevent productivity losses. "The award gives us extra motivation to emphatically expand our developments in the area of digitization," says Stephan Stoermer, DATALine expert at the CHIRON Group.
