CHIRON Group with a new service concept called LifetimeSolutions

The modular SmartLine software portfolio creates the conditions for the purposeful evaluation of information from machining centers. Thus it forms the basis for SmartServices, the new digital services of the CHIRON Group.

Optimized overall equipment effectiveness
At the end of 2018, the CHIRON Group started to reconsolidate all its national and international service activities in order to offer all worldwide customers an extensive and individual overall package for higher productivity and improved machine availability. The CHIRON Group will now present the new service concept 'LifetimeSolutions' at EMO. In addition to specific customer needs, this service concept is primarily aimed at the different phases in the lifecycle of machines and equipment. These phases form the framework for the services: From knowledge transfer, maintenance management, service agreements, retrofits and modernizations through to smart services for digital manufacturing – depending on the customer's needs and the life phase of the machine. The objectives of the individual service package are higher productivity, optimum machine availability and, thus, optimized overall equipment effectiveness with the best possible price-performance ratio.

Perfectly coordinated service throughout all phases
The CHIRON Group is well-established all over the world with around 500 service professionals in 26 countries. Highly trained specialists with brand experience work in every head office and in the international companies. The support centers and spare parts warehouses are very well networked around the world. The services of CHIRON, STAMA and SCHERER are therefore geared towards the phases which every machining center goes through – starting, producing, modernizing. Perfectly coordinated services such as installation, commissioning and training, a short start phase and high machine availability at an early stage are therefore guaranteed. During the production phase it is necessary to constantly maintain a high level and identify and tap additional potential. In this case the SmartLine modules help to prevent stoppages as far as possible. ProtectLine provides protection, for example, against consequences of operating errors while ConditionLine permanently monitors the condition of the machine. Critical events are detected at an early stage and causes are localized. Service assignments can therefore be purposefully planned in good time.

The service experts of the CHIRON Group are also harnessing new value-added potential for a machining center, for example by upgrading the control system or by means of automation. The LifetimeSolutions service portfolio is rounded off by purposeful modernization during which machining centers are upgraded to the latest state of the art.

Improved performance through digital services
The CHIRON Group's modular SmartLine software portfolio creates the conditions for purposeful evaluation of information from machining centers. The digital systems detect specific potential during production, thus creating the basis for the new smart services. The digital services offered by CHIRON Group Services are – like all services under the umbrella of LifetimeSolutions – oriented towards the three phases in the lifecycle of a machine. Through the use of RemoteLine, efficiency services ensure targeted reactive maintenance, for example by means of guaranteed reaction times, spare parts deliveries and service assignments. The objective of efficiency services is to reduce downtimes.

Condition services offer maintenance management which is perfectly coordinated with the customer's production. Supported by ConditionLine and RemoteLine, condition services include recording and visualization of condition data and regular reporting as a basis for specific action recommendations. This increases availability while also being able to plan costs and stoppage times. Every SmartLine module is used for productivity services. Both the machine and the entire production process are carefully analyzed in order to attain higher overall performance and equipment effectiveness.
